About the role
Attovia Therapeutics, Inc., is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Associate Director of Preclinical Study Monitor and Operations to join our Preclinical Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing outsourced preclinical studies to ensure they are conducted efficiently, ethically, and to the highest quality standards, including Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards. You will collaborate closely with Study Directors, internal scientists, and external vendors to drive study execution and safeguard data integrity.
In addition, this individual will manage the operational lifecycle of our non-clinical pipeline. In this role, you will lead the logistical coordination of both internal and external research projects. You will be responsible for vendor selection, contract execution, budget tracking, and material logistics. Your work will directly ensure that our preclinical programs move smoothly from concept to execution without operational delays.
Key Responsibilities
• Vendor Oversight: Act as the primary scientific and operational contact for CRO partners, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are consistently met.
• Protocol & Report Review: Review draft protocols and study reports for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with internal research strategies before finalization.
• Compliance & Monitoring: Conduct routine study visits/inspections (both in-person and remotely) to verify that laboratory procedures adhere to protocol specifications, SOPs, and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.
• Data Management: Track deliverables for samples, bioanalysis, and data collection. Identify potential discrepancies protocol deviations and work with stakeholders to resolve them promptly.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate study updates regularly with internal stakeholders, toxicologists, discovery scientists, and project teams.
• Logistics & Material Management: Coordinate the global shipment of test articles, biological samples, and critical reagents between internal sites and contract research organizations (CROs).
• Vendor & Contract Management: Lead the sourcing and onboarding of external vendors. Manage the execution of Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and purchase orders.
• Budget & Timeline Tracking: Maintain integrated project timelines and track program budgets. Monitor operational expenditures and forecast upcoming resource needs.
• Operational Troubleshooting: Serve as the central point of contact for operational bottlenecks, resolving custom clearance issues, shipping delays, or invoice discrepancies.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a related field
• 10+ years of related work experience in drug discovery/development.
• Solid understanding of global regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, OECD, GLP regulations) governing nonclinical safety and toxicology studies.
• Excellent project management, critical thinking, and communication skills to effectively negotiate timelines and troubleshoot challenges.
• Exceptional organizational skills, strong negotiation capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple fluid projects simultaneously.
